Swamp Launch Rocket Team is an award-winning student design team at the University of Florida that enables for students to design, build, and launch high-powered rockets. Originally founded in 2010 as the University of Florida Rocket Team, the team rebranded to Swamp Launch in 2019. The mission of our organization is to provide our members with tools to develop skills that will benefit their engineering studies and professional development while exploring rocket engineering. The team consists of approximately 75 undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of majors.
Our team competes in two competitions: the NASA University Student Launch Initiative (USLI) and the Spaceport America Cup. These two branches of the team develop independent projects each year.
Along with our competitions, we participate in educational engagement events in the Gainesville and Alachua County area, encouraging kids to explore STEM and their own imaginations. We pride ourselves on continuously giving back to the community that supports our members.

Additionally, we facilitate career-building and educational activities for our members. We offer a mentorship program for our members to become certified in high-powered rocketry through the National Association of Rocketry (NAR). We also engage with industry representatives to expose our members to career opportunities and help them create professional connections.
